Silence. Silence is golden they say.

They used to tell me that in school to get me to shut up.

I never did.

I never understood what it meant to be silent.

Why anyone would ever want to be silent.

You know when your sitting on a train and all these thoughts are rushing through your head and you just want to say them all out loud but you just sit there. Silently.

Wishing that maybe you’ll bump into an old friend. You don’t.

So you keep it all inside, and it drives you mad, so much you want to scream.

But you’re still silent. You are invisible. You cannot be heard, therefore you are not seen. Silence is scary. It’s the mind playing tricks on you now. Making you think too much.

Maybe you are speaking, but they just can’t hear you.

They just don’t want to hear you.
